COSMIX molecular biologicals GmbH forms partnership with Opsonic Therapeutics, Inc.

Cosmix and  Tripep, a Swedish biotech company, have teamed up to bring their respective technologies (RAS and mRNA Display Library) to a newly formed US company named Opsonic Therapeutics Inc. within Tripep's RAS technology will be developed. The RAS technology is based on oligosaccharide linked peptides that can redirect natural antibodies present in all humans to new targets. Opsonic will use Cosmix mRNA display technology to identify target-binding peptides and these are then used in RAS peptides aimed for therapeutic use. (2009)

Jerini AG extends its existing business with COSMIX molecular biologicals GmbH

After the successful completion of a pilot project Jerini AG extends its existing business with COSMIX molecular biologicals GmbH by entering into new service agreements to exploit COSMIX' proprietary mRNA display technology.
COSMIX will select new high affinity peptides binding to various human protein targets. Functional peptides will serve as valuable starting structures for future drug development. (2009)

Successful Maturation of HAL Candidates for Therapy

Second quarter of 2008 COSMIX finalized its affinity maturations of HAL candidates of the VEGF - Antagonist program. Up to 40-fold increases in affinities compared to the starting HAL were achieved to reach low nanomoleclar and picomolar ranges of affinities.
We consider this as a prime postion to enter now candidate selections and to start animal assays for preclinical development. (2008)

COSMIX moves labs and offices in Germany

In August 2008 COSMIX molecular biologicals GmbH moved labs and offices to the new location at Rebenring 31 in Braunschweig. The move enables COSMIX to provide a broader spectrum of services to our cutsomers; the combination of radioactivity lab and cell culture lab makes it possible to radioactively label cell components as tracers to follow purifications even for pathogenic organisms. COSMIX Therapeutics LLC initiates animal assays at Indiana University

Second quarter of 2008 COSMIX Therapeutics LLC entered into various agreements with Indiana University to perform animal studies with the best HAL candidates of our VEGF - Antagonist program.
Aspects of neovascularization in Age-related Macula Degeneration (AMD) and tumour progression models in rat and mouse as well as toxicology, immunology and oral availability of D-peptides are investigated. (2008)

COSMIX Therapeutics LLC resumes ATP grant project of NIST

In August 2007 COSMIX Therapeutics LLC was granted a continuation of the ATP project and the project was resumed to perform affinity maturations of the D-peptide candidates to block VEGF action in angiogenesis. (2007)
